The art of conversation and small talk does not come easily in a language one is grappling with. While very much part of Business English, imagine business associates meeting after work in an informal way. Does talk revert to business or are there other things one could discuss? What are safe topics and which ones are taboo? Is it safe, for example, to discuss football if you are on a business trip in Munich? Or is it OK to ask if one is married or not? What are the cultural nuances that one needs to be aware of?. These are some aspects we look at in this course, learning all the time from each other’s cultures. This programme can be done as an extended course or as a one-day workshop.
