Inter-cultural Awareness
Dealing with other cultures can be quite intimidating, especially if you do not know what to expect. The English-speaking world behaves and acts differently from other cultures, and within this world, behaviour, customs, and traditions vary from the UK, America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and India. Even the language used may be different. Is a jam something you eat or is it something you see on the streets? When do you use the word torch and when flashlight; do they mean the same thing? What are some things we need to be aware of? When does a yes mean no or is that even possible? Are all cultures equally open or do you have to read between the lines of what is not said?
This workshop prepares you to deal with the different cultures within the English-speaking world.
